Don't forget the Joker!
Hurray out and about just now I found this beauty in the street! A slightly sozzled joker.

Four of hearts
Found another street cards. This one with a slight twist, I had to go to a Careers fair yesterday for boringly obvious reasons and as I was leaving on the stairs of Earl's Court I found a pack of cards (a promtional hand out) that someone had dropped. So I have taken one at random to include in my pack. The're my rules I'll break 'em if I choose!

Ace of Clubs
I'm starting to scare myself now!
It goes like this: Yesterday I was predicting spring again so today it was lovely and sunny so I wander into Greenwich and slowly get into a bad mood, buses on diversion, the crappy new shops in the market, in-line skaters in the park, then a biblical rain storm drenching everyone and no buses then one goes past without stopping and so I go stomping off with my soggy shopping. I'm waiting to cross the road and the gutters are rushing with rain and what should sail past on it's own... a singular piece of flotsam which instantly washes away my gloom. Yes a playing card washing down the street on it's own. Like I say it's even weirding me out now!

Aces High or Low?
Gallery of the Lost and found: # 11In all my travelling hither and yon over the last few days I didn’t have to time to tell you about my news, very minor in fact some might say trivial news even but cheery none the less....... I found another playing card for my street pack hurrah!
It’s the Ace of Diamonds: it was just as they all are lying there in the street near my gaff. It’s odd that I rarely find a discarded pack or even say half a pack scattered on the cobbles the most has been about 8-9 together and because you’ve got a have system I usually pick one at random (hoping I’ve not got it). Not sure why I have these rules it just would be cheating to pick up an entire pack all at once!
The card’s from a smaller than average sized pack so if we ever get round to playing a hand of “street canasta” it might be a bit obvious what you’re holding! Anyway only another 40 odd more to find before the big game!
PS. Oh and it’s got a pretty reverse design as well.

Pavement Art : Gallery of lost and found # 10
Oh happy day!
It may cold, everybody may be skint, the sun barely gets above the horizon but any day when you find a playing card in the street on the way to work can’t be all bad. This one had the added tension that it was face down so I had the drama of the reveal.
Was it one I had already? Was it the rules to bridge?
A quick scrabble and Ta dah! The 10 of spades!
Of course I had to wait to check my flickr page to confirm I didn’t have it already I think there is a 1 in 5 ish chance at the moment (including jokers) that I won’t get a double. Sadly I Lucked out and I have a 10 spades already, oh well it is a game chance!

Life's a Peach: the movie
There was this peach in our road last week; here's a little film of how it returned back into the carbon/nitrogen cycle via some new baby ants, flies and I suspect a fox or may be some rodents !

I Heart Prince.....

Pavement Art: Gallery of the Lost & Found #9
Snap!
Proof that it's not just Deptford that's awash with discarded CARDS! I found this one eyed fella in Highest of Holborn, on my way to the very leafy Inns of Court to have me lunch. It does cheer me up the idea that some day in the future we can have game of canasta all from cards found in the gutter.

Diamonds are forever...
Gallery of Lost and Found: #8Hurrah!
I found another one, I'm sure some of you think I make these up, but in the market today I found the king of Diamonds. I'm sure the elderly Rastafarian looking guy will testify to it being true, as he gave me a very WTF look as I picked it up.
I've got unselfconscious about it now after all I might never see this particular one ever again.
Anyway only 40 plus to find!

The train now on Deptford High St

Had to use Deptford Station this morning (the oldest in use station in the world fact fans) I hadn't been down that end of the High st for a week or two and would you know it the trains are invading the High St.
Apparently it's going to a cafe which is always a good idea. It's part of doing up the station (it has been over 160 years after all!). For more skinny on SE8 go here.
This should've been "a things I found in the street post really" but then again you don't really stumble upon a 20 tonne slam door train carriage.

street buzz

Didn’t pick this up in the street but it was parked around the corner from my gaff or should that be drum (I've lived in the “mist” sorry smoke for ages not quite master the local idiom though) anyway near my flat. I was surprised they need to advertise the stuff as Red Bull it’s so ubiquitous. I must admit to being espresso fan myself if I need a boost, Taurine never does much for me.
I’m opening a book that the “promotion team” who drive this thing tend to over the use the phrase “guys” even when addressing a mixed sex group. The boot will also contain at least one branded base ball hat. Any way on the subject of promotional cars here’s the daddy the outspan mini, why they never went into mass production I don’t know.

What’s your favourite fruit or vegetable shaped promotional vehicle?
I was going to try and use “apples and pears” in this post but my gaff/drum/flat is only on one floor...

La infanta....

Pavement Art: gallery lost and found # Cinco!
Barcelona Doll Sept 9th 2001.
All this talk (sorry shows about Spain and pictures that are in Spain) has made me a little wistful. With the police sirens wailing off along the south circular, my ropey fridge rumbling away in the background, it would be nice to be sat in warm Spanish square, the swifts flying over head, your table in the harsh (goya black shadows), the grumpy patron bringing out a cool beaded glass of Estrella and putting it down on a mat on the slightly wonky table, you've a plate of pata Negra (well you're on your holidays)and some olives (that always taste better abroad). You let the beer stand sweating for a moment and then lift it up and take a good swig. A swift swoops down after a fly and all you can do is smile at whomever you are with (or just to yourself ).......
Now of course I'm even more wistful, obviously the revere above wouldn't be possible in the Placa Reial just off the ramblas where I found the doll above. Apart from the other tourists your morning (or in this case night time) beer would interupted by some drug and drink addled lost soul or just a passing busker. That said it would be nice and maybe later you could wander up to Gracia for some Absinthe or maybe or maybe or ....

close to the hedge....
There might be something in this "street musician" thing the other day a guitar and today I found the chords.
I'm afraid I don't know what tune it is I found it in the street in London's fashionable Shoreditch so it might be a Babyshambles song!
