Fred Flingstone.....

The Defenestration of Lothian
So who is it then? Who’s been round Fred’s house with some rocks? Come on empty your pockets, you know it’s not the right thing......

I think however someone should ring Morris McWhirter (or his son) as I think we’ve found the victim of crime likely to receive the least amount of sympathy from the largest number of people.

When looking back over our Sunday School up bringing I can remember the Easter story worrying me..How can society go from singing the praises of a man one Sunday to wanting him crucified the next!! With age and experience I no longer see this as the mystery it once was.
However it does seem churlish that a man shouldn't receive the pension that he is contractually entitled too, when large amounts of it derive from contributions to pensions from previous employers (or so I read in the paper.)
I can easily imagine that many of the people who are clamouring for its return would be up in arms if some lowly worker who was sacked for not cleaning the toilets properly also lost his pension entitlement...surely its just a case of envy and socio-economic class warfare???

AL: From what I've read there is doubt whether he was "contractually entitled" to the money and just that the board in the process of being bailed out from your's and mine pension funds, just waved it through partly because they are all tied into the same sorts if schemes themselves.
Also the main argument for such renumeration is that a: the people who get them make lots of money for their employers and B: Carry the can if they mess up.
Which isn't the case here on either counts.
the other point is that at the time of his leaving the bank was skint due to his actions now if your sacked cleaner had caused the bankruptcy of their employers business which was then bailed out by third party that third party might not look too kindly on the cleaner get their £70 quid a week sorry £1800 a day in this case.

The only downside to Fred having his windows bricked is that it will add to his misguided view of being a put upon injured party.
